Could Have Been Coincidence but I Truly Hope For Destiny
On May 24, 2005 was the day my cousin Nathan called to invite me to his high school graduation party here in Denver Colorado. I was skeptical; my four year-old son Alex had never been in his car seat for eight full hours. As I prepared for my trip; things truly started to go wrong. This could have been coincidence or destiny.
The Invitation That Changed My Life
I accepted my cousins invitation since coincidently his graduation party had fallen on Memorial Day weekend, and I was off of work for three whole days. I also wanted to forget about the arguments with my ex boyfriend Jesus; that happened the week before. Jesus had come down to Albuquerque from Austin, TX. for a second chance to be by his son, and to get back with me. Second chance; yeah right! To think of how many chances I gave that man. Anyway; the reason I decided to give him another chance was because I wanted to give my son the opportunity to have his parents together for his birthday. To cut the story short, Jesus left on Friday the 20th a day before Alexs fourth birthday party. Neither my son Alex nor I received any explanations or a goodbye until weeks later.
Preparations for Travel
On Thursday the 26th after leaving work; I went to pick up my son from the daycare. Alex and I went to Sears, and bought new tires for our trip. When Alex and I arrived home; I put our suit case in the car so I could be ready to leave town right after daycare on the following day.
The Day of Travel
After work on Friday the 27th as I was on the freeway I started hearing loud noises that were coming from my car as I drove. I pulled over to see what was causing it. A stud was rattling; I tightened it. I assumed that was going to solve the problem. Getting back on the road, the noise started up again. When I arrived at the daycare, I checked all the tires. My front left tire had a big huge bubble. I could not leave town with a damaged tire. I went back to Sears for the second time. I was so upset they had sold me a damaged tire. I had spent four hours at Sears waiting for my new tires to be installed the day before. Now I was back to replace a damaged tire; when I honestly should have been on the road leaving town. I lost three hours of travel time, and I was so mad. Sears took in my car without having to wait in line; they replaced the damaged tire. Then when they where backing up my car; guess what happened. They backed up right into the entrance chain. Oh, my god; I was so upset. I was about to spit out bullets; luckily the chain was made of plastic, and there was no damage done to my car.
Now it is obvious, I truly did not have much of a desire to continue with this trip. I decided to go home. On my way home the streets were closed. There were tones of detours to follow. I saw this as a sign and headed north on I-25 going towards Denver, Colorado.
Finally Arrived About 1:00A.M Alex and I arrived to Denver, Colorado. I had a map to guide me to my mothers house, but had no luck finding the location. I called my cousin Mike to find out she had given me the wrong address. Finally one hour later Alex and I arrived at my mothers house, and went right to sleep.
Graduation Party
Towards the end of my cousins graduation party, I asked my cousin Bertha the following: who is that guy that is sitting next to your husband? She said Its a friend of ours; let me introduce you to him. She introduced us; his name was Cesar Gasson. Cesar and I talked a long while, but did not give out each others phone numbers. Towards the late night hours my arms were tired because my son had fallen asleep on my lap; I decided to go home. My cousin Bertha insisted for me to spend the night at her house to keep partying but I am not much of a partier or a drinker. I said no and left. When I arrived to my mothers house; my cousin Jeannette arrived, she invited me to the movies. When Jeannette and I were getting ready to leave; Bertha, her husband Ruben, and Cesar arrived. Jeannette and I did not go to the movies; instead Jeannette and I stayed to party with the crowd.
Could Be Destiny
On May 28th this was the night I found my true soul mate. Cesar, Alex, and I spent the entire weekend together. Two days later Alex and I returned to Albuquerque, NM. Cesar and I had kept a long distance relationship. Two months later Alex and I moved down to Denver, CO. to be with Cesar. Alex and I arrived to Denver, CO. on Monday July 25, 2005. Now a year and five months later; Cesar and I are still together and living happily ever after.
Conclusion
There were many obstacles in my path which tried to prevent me from going on my trip, but if I had not seen the signs, and taken a risk; I probably never would have met the love of my life. I always say things happen for a reason. Call me superstitions; could have been coincidence but I truly hope for destiny.
